This coat is made from my family’s Great Outdoors cotton canvas tent from the late 70s. It is fully lined in a combination of acrylic wool front panels and wool blanket back panel, with a heavy polyester sleeve for comfort. The coat features 12 pockets, including two chest hand warmer pockets, one transparent mesh key pocket and a small wrist pocket on the sleeve. The back has a large vent; an original feature from the tent, which was pegged down and allowed for airflow. The lower section has a tarpaulin panel and a large water- resistant pocket, that features the original Eclair zipper. This coat is not waterproof.
The last picture is a photograph of the campsite at Paradise Bay on the East Coast of New Zealand where my family pitched this tent every summer.
